Edinburgh, United Kingdom July 5th, 2016

I arrived in Edinburgh at 8:00 am on July 5th, 2016.  Following a short nap, I grabbed my camera gear and headed out.  The temperature was in the high 50’s with a light rain falling.

The following map shows my route:

I left the hotel and headed towards the Edinburgh Castle and then followed High Street (also known as the Royal Mile) to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.  I then entered Holyrood Park and began the climb to Arthur’s Seat.

After visiting St Giles I continued east on the Royal Mile towards the Palace of Holyroodhouse.  Click on this link for more information about the Palace:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holyrood_Palace

The Queen was in residence so no visitors were allowed.

The Queen was having a garden party; I wasn’t invited.

Heading up the trail towards Arthur’s Seat.  That’s the peak at the top of the picture. Yes, it was slippery….and steep.  The following link describes Arthur’s Seat: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur%27s_Seat

I then climbed down and followed the same route back to the hotel.
